These kids were not the subject of the photo I was making. They just happened to run through the frame at the moment I pressed the shutter button. But I like their energy and their single-minded focus on their play. It reminds me of being a child, of running with my friends playing whatever game we had dreamed up that day, not worrying about being perfectly composed or fitting into someone’s frame (or staying out of it). We were just kids being who we were, just as these kids were, and that was good enough for us.
This photo, cropped from the lower right-hand corner of the original shot, is what it is, and that is good enough for me.
