I know I said last week was the last of the Governor’s Island photos…but I was mistaken. Ooops, and all that.
We were waiting for the ferry to carry us and our bicycles to Governor’s Island when I snapped this picture. I bumped up the vibrance with a Lightroom Preset, then used the skin softening brush to smooth out her complexion. I also knocked the blacks slider down a bit, as the preset I used made them too dark for my tastes on this picture. The area was already dark, so enhancing the blacks made the shadows overwhelming. The result is much more to my liking, though I would have prefered for my focus to have been better. That’s what happens when I have to snap fast in low light with a slow shutter speed, because one more second and my subject would present an entirely different pose.

The things I go through for my art!
