This week I heard of a weather term that is new to me: derecho. I’m told it is a weather pattern that is characterized by high winds and sometimes severe thunderstorms. I got my first taste of one the other evening when it barrelled through my area at high speed. I had never seen clouds like that, before. That called for me to dash into my closet, grab my camera, and dash out onto the balcony to make some photos. The clouds almost don’t look real.
I metered for the sky, in order to better capture the details in the clouds. I also bumped up the clarity and dark sliders a bit in Lightroom to give the clouds more definition. The result pleases me.
