Love is in the air, and my camera will be in front of my face all day as I second shoot a wedding in upstate New York. I am very excited about this gig, and not just because I love hanging out with Ariane Hunter. She is more than a friend and fellow photographer: she is also my life coach. During this year she has guided me as I have gotten in touch with and learned to better respect my intuition, which has resulted in a boost of self-confidence in just about every area of my life. I am looking forward to seeing how that translates into the way I handle second-shooting a wedding.
The other day I was informed none of my entries to this year’s Art of Photography Show were selected for the show. I am disappointed, of course; I had hoped the careful consideration I had put into my selections would earn me a spot. But I remain undaunted. Of course I will keep shooting, and of course as opportunities to enter (or hold?) a show pique my interest, I will pursue them. Rejection (by one person/group out of many in the world) is just part of the journey, not the whole story.
