Busy bee, that is me! Between a full day of socializing on Saturday, then driving 1-1/2 hours each way to second shoot a wedding on Waterville, NY on Sunday, I have been quite busy. (Let us not talk about the 1-1/2 hours of traffic I sat in on the way home, doubling the length of my drive.) I was worn out and run down on Monday, so I called out sick. Best. Decision. Ever. After spending all day in bed I got back to work on Tuesday able to focus and accomplish much.
I was able to focus, but my Canon 24-105mm F4L IS USM lens was hardly able to do so, thanks to a dying aperture. It is a miracle I was able to get any photos at all on Sunday, between intermittent error messages. The fact that I came away with 300 usable photos is due to my rock star status, as my sister pointed out. I’m just glad I was able to work around my unexpected equipment troubles and get a lot of decent shots.
So my only pro lens is in the shoppe, and I have a shoot on Sunday with the same sister who was so encouraging, today. Hello, 300D body and cropped-sensor Sigma lens. I’ll alternate between that and my 70-300mm Sigma on my 5D. I’m seeing shots in my head, and I am mapping them out in Evernote as they come to mind. I’m excited about it, equipment challenges notwithstanding.
They say it will be 3-5 business days before my lens is ready. I am crossing my fingers for 3 days, which would enable me to pick her up on Friday.
