As growing wealth inequality has pushed people out of spacious, suburban living and into densely populated urban areas the American Dream has changed shape. This series, set entirely in the South Bronx (New York), USA, represents the reality of the American Dream for a lot of the lower middle and working class, arguably some of the hardest working people in the United States after the poor.
Suburban photos tend to be processed with washed-out colors for a soft, dreamy effect. I have deliberately used similar processing effects.
