Subway service slowdowns and disruptions due to construction are a part of life in New York City. That’s what happens when the suits at the transit authority fail to authorize regular maintenance for decades. The folks with the flags, hard hats, and safety vests are the ones on the tracks keeping things moving…or restarting things when failures grind the system to a halt. My hat remains off to them for doing this dangerous job.
